Dear Cornerstone Families,

We give thanks that we have heard from many of you and that you are safe and dry.

We also are aware that many of you are still without power and in some cases still cannot move freely.   While the major roads are passable, several areas of flooding still exist.

Several of the members of the staff were out and about the area yesterday afternoon. We observed the conditions of our roads and toured the school building and grounds.  The building came through without damage and the power is on.  However the school grounds are covered with debris with the a large tree down at the basketball court.

We fully expect conditions to improve today but we cannot know how many of you will still be struggling through today and into tomorrow to get your lives back on track.

For these reasons, we will remain closed today and tomorrow, Wednesday.   Cornerstone will reopen Thursday September 14th at normal hours.  If your child doesn't typically come on Thursdays, feel free to have them attend to get caught up on their work but it is not mandatory.

Separately, we are asking that faculty and staff, who can, to please report to school on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, but only if you can do so safely.  We will be cleaning up debris and working on lesson plans so dress accordingly.

Any family that have a chain saw that can cut-up a large downed tree and help clear debris please come to school on Wednesday at 9:00 am.  We should be able to make the grounds safe in about two hours.

God bless each and everyone of you.
